Oil in Water Monitor
ProAnalysis AS from Norway introduced the Argus Technology to the Norwegian market in 2005, and is rapidly gaining acceptance as the leading supplier of oil in water analyzers in this market. The technology was introduced to the international market in 2008.
Main advantages of the Argus technology are:
- Reliable measurements: Possibility to replace manual sampling and laboratory analysis.
- In-line probe: No bypass line, low/no maintenance.
- High-pressure, high temperature application: Measurements throughout the process.
- Automated self-cleaning: Eliminate problems with scaling and other process contamination.
- Multipoint monitoring: Multiple in-line measurement probes connected to one control unit, giving lower cost per measuring point.
- Real-time continuous measurements
Measurement Principle
Argus is based on the measurement principle (laser-induced) fluorescence. A laser, uniquely developed for the sensor, emits ultraviolet light directly into the process line by fiber optics. The laser light interacts with crude oil, and fluorescence is emitted, collected, transmitted by fiber optics, spectrally and temporally filtered and finally quantified by a light sensor.
